La Trobe Art Institute opening August 2026 co curated with Amelia Wallin

In response to escalating pollution, degradation and privatisation, Actions for Water II explores water as both a vital ecology and a site of speculative possibilities. Bringing together artists and practioners from across disciplines and geographies, the exhibition reclaims water as a shared commons, imbued with cultural memory, collective histories and communal stewardship. Central to these practices is process: deep listening, embodied research, and collaboration with place and community. These are not static representations, but evolving investigations grounded in relational methodologies and fieldwork. The works reflect sustained engagement with water’s many forms and meanings, tracing connections across geographies and knowledge systems.
